TexHenge Granite Clad Berm

The berm is 5m high and 150m diameter at the base. It is clad in solid thick slabs of TexHenge Stone™ granite from our exclusive quarry. This prevents erosion of the berm, and the granite resists the abrasion of millions of visitors over the years. See the three people standing near the center of the image. One is in front of one of the 2x2x3m blue granite Processional Avenue Flanker monoliths. You can dedicate this stone to a loved one, favorite teacher, club or corporation or for any dignified commemorative purpose. It can be covered with carvings and inscriptions of your choice, to endure the ages.

Solstice Processional Steps

TexHenge is an accurate astronomical observatory. The sun rises and sets about 30° North of the East-West axis on the June 21 Summer Solstice. It rises and sets about 30° South of the East-West axis on the December 21 Winter Solstice. This angle is approximately equal to one's distance North of the Equator. Houston is almost exactly 30°. Broad steps lead up to the berm along all four of these "Processional Avenues", and large crowds will march to the top of the berm in ceremonies on those two days. The giant 2x2x3 metre blue granite monoloths are among the rarest and finest of all the many varities of TexHenge Stone™ that we also sell for home, office or construction.

Solstice Processional Avenue

This view is from farther away, and shows the 7m wide Solstice Processional Avenue and steps that allow ten people to walk side-by-side down the avenue and up the steps to the top of the berm. Not shown is a gentle 20:1 sloped ramp on the North side of the berm that allows easy access by wheeled vehicles and chairs. Three large landings along the way allow rest stops and great views of the surrounding Prime Circle Commemorative Monoliths that surround the berm. Not shown are the safety rails on the steps and at the top.

Prime Circle™ Commemorative Monoliths

Nine rings of rare granite monoliths surround the TexHenge Stone Circle 2003. We call these the Prime Circle™ as they are the most exclusive commemorative, tributary or advertising spaces in the entire world. Dedicate one to your family. Come back over the generations and have the names of new family members inscribed. Think carefully -- n 3500 years, who will know your story of life and accomplishment, or your name, unless you have a Prime Circle™ monolith? You can choose a stone atop the berm or surrounding the berm.

Summer Full Moon at TexHenge

The Milky Way, the outer arm of our own spiral galaxy can be seen in this accurate NASA star field. The bright full moon of Texas casts deep shadows. Have you ever noticed how the full moons of Winter are always high in the sky, and the full moons of Summer are low in the sky? This and many other astronomical relationships and observations are "encoded" into the stone monoliths of the TexHenge™ Stone Circle 2003™. Please join us in our tribute to our natural world and all its wonders.

TexHenge Easily Seen from the Moon

Commercial satellites now produce images with 1m resolution for the public. Every Prime Circle™ commemorative monolith can be seen from orbit. Your family's stone can be shown from orbit. When we return to the Moon, TexHenge will be a favorite target to spot as the Earth rotates 240,000 miles below. Maybe your children will live there, and return to add the names of new family members to your personal monolith. Who can predict what the future holds for us? Nothing will endure eternity better than TexHenge Stone™ granite-- the same material that built the eternal obelisks and statues of Egypt.
